… Stop calling Byakuya, nii-sama. Nii is a word used for brother and sama is a word used for a higher ranked . So if he isn’t you brother nor your superior you can’t call him that(only Rukia can). the nii-sama expresion is kind of wired , in general for a older brother the word aniki is used but Byakuya is Rukia’s adoptive brother and also her superior and that is why they use nii-sama.
